Technology Costs

Each technology is planetary based and must be purchased separately. The planetary technologies are not shared within the empire. When a new planet is colonized, each technology must be build from scratch. Think of this as building a new shipyard or other required infrastructure which is not available on the new planet.

Administration technology increases the resource generation rate and increases the maximum amount of resources that can be maintained.

Astrogation technology increases the range at which the fleets can travel from that planet. This technology calculates the fleet's trajectory through a series of sophisticated networked computers and satellites that allow for navigation between the stars.

PDB Sensors technology increases the detection and targeting capability of all newly built Planetary Defense Bases (PDB). As this technology improves, older PDB will need to be retrofitted by the shipyard. In addition, these sensors also can detect incoming expeditions.

PDB Shields technology increases the defensive capability of all newly built PDB. As this technology improves, older PDB will need to be retrofitted by the shipyard.

PDB Weapons technology increases the offensive capability of all newly built PDB. As this technology improves, older PDB will need to be retrofitted by the shipyard.

Military Training technology increases the proficiency of the planetary soldiers as well as improving the quality of troops on the Marine Transport.

Shipyard technology is required to be able to develop larger and more deadly ship types.

Ship Propulsion technology increases the speed of any newly built ships. As this technology improves, older ships will need to be retrofitted by the shipyard. All fleets travel at the slowest individual ship speed.

Ship Sensors technology increases the detection and targeting capability of all newly built ships. As this technology improves, older ships will need to be retrofitted by the shipyard.

Ship Shields technology increases the defensive capability of any newly built ships. As this technology improves, older ships will need to be retrofitted by the shipyard.

Ship Weapons technology increases the offensive capability of any newly built ships. As this technology improves, older ships will need to be retrofitted by the shipyard.

Black Ops Training technology increases the capability of any newly built Black Ops Ship. The higher the technology, the better chance of an espionage, sabotage, sedition or terrorism mission being successful. As this technology improves, older ships will need to be retrofitted by the shipyard.

Security technology increases the planet's counter-espoinage capability. Additionally, this technology also reduces the planet's government corruption.

Xenoarchaeology technology increases the planet's ability to perform analysis on any alien artifacts that might be found.
